Had some good successes this month!
The NHS hack is good so now I can get some basic reports on suspicious injuries and unexplained anemia, Nothing came through this month, though.
Teressa got us the pictures of the Society of Leopold she promised and Victor came through on the connection to the city cameras. The link to the cameras isn’t going to work long as their techs will shut it down soon but it was enough to pick them up from the outskirts heading to the town centre, and coming out of Buchanan Bus Station heading to St Alphonsus’ Church. Looks like they are military trained as they move like a small unit – always keeping each other in view and taking care – especially at night. Victor reported that he found out about 30 of them returning from down south and Teressa said that she thought that they were divided up into 4 groups of 6 people after they’d been attracted by Manchester and Liverpool.
Victor also picked up a bunch of shit for the Office. Including the lathe and tools for the workshop, a secure fridge, and the encrypted comms equipment I’ve been wanting for ages. He also picked up a bunch of big TVs for monitoring feeds.
Quiet month as far as Scourging goes. I haven’t heard anything from the neonates on their Sabbat Hunt so I’m going to guess it didn’t go too badly. Either that or it went very badly and it’s too late for me to do anything to help.
I took a bit of time to get to know Steve, the deputy harbour master in Stranraer. If the place is going to be useful long term then I really need to make him a permanent asset. Thankfully, he has no wife, children or current girlfriends so the damage by making him a ghoul is limited to just him. He’ll be a useful ally for any future plans.
Short term, the best use for Steve is getting those 3 kindred-detected cameras I picked up from Sully. Got them installed and hooked up to the Office. They’ve already picked up a few people sneaking through. There is a good chance that they are Anarchs heading over to Liverpool but I didn’t recognise them which doesn’t bode well.
Talking about Liverpool. Relations are very strained between the Camarilla and the Anarchs.. and Brujah in general. My Anarch connections didn’t help me out with getting to talk to the Cam kindred but I got enough to find out that Prince Kane is basically offering Domain to anyone who can take bits of Liverpool and keep it! For fucks sake, that’s a terrible plan! I pointed out that the Anarchs are a motivated, passionate and coordinated group who will be getting reinforced from other Anarch domains and Kane is sending individual kindred up against that! She doesn’t even control the domain she is offering up. The Camarilla need to be working as a team to counter the moves made by the Anarchs and disrupt their efforts to get even more embedded in the city instead of trying to pick off little chunks at a time and fighting over the choicest morsels. Even assuming it’s successful, any Camarilla member with the personal power to make any kind of headway against the whole of the Anarchs in Liverpool (and Ulster) has no reason to settle for just Liverpool.
Yeah, okay, probably wasn’t the most tactful thing to say and I’m certainly not making friends but I think Kane listened. She challenged me to do something to actually help rather than hanging out the “outskirts of prominence”. Her attitude was that I should be earning “status, station and prestation”. What the fuck does she think I’m doing in Glasgow? Twiddling my thumbs? I’m Scourge and people already call me an Elder for fucks sake. What station does she think I’m going for? Of course, the prestation option is something you seriously have to consider. Not that it affects any decision I might make to help, but if I’m going to help then it’s a bonus.
So I made her an offer. I said, “Put my money where my mouth is? Fair enough. I’ve already got the Status and Station I need but I’d be stupid to turn down prestation. Here is my offer – I’ll come down from Glasgow for a portion of the month away from my Scourge duties there, and I’ll use my investigation skills to provide Intell on the city of Liverpool that you can use as part of a coordinated attempt to whittle away the growing Influence of the Anarchs. In addition, give me a bunch of motivated neonates and I’ll train them up to do the same. I’m not talking about spying on Anarchs meetings or physically fighting them, I’m talking about giving you leverage and crucial information so that they don’t get embedded in the Police, Councils and infrastructure of Liverpool. Will that work for you?”
Yeah, turns out she actually wanted “hands-on” work. Fuck that! I’m mean, fucks sake! I’m a Scourge! Sure I’m going to be wandering down to fight on the streets on my weekends off! Anyway, she’ll pass on my offer to teach people in case any of them want to pay for that. Also, seems like a Brujah Ancilla called Harry Francis went missing when he passed through Liverpool. Now that’s more where my skills lie! Okay, it’s a potentially contentious job and I’ll probably kick some ant hills on the way past but I can work with that.
