After catching a glimpse of Jack leaving Tius’ quarters in the Academy with some speed, Primrose calls her up to find out what is going on.
Primrose: Jack?
pause Elder Jack?
Jack: Oh for fucks sake, “Jack” is fine.
Especially on a phone call when people could be listening in!
Jack has scolding words with a friendly tone.
Primrose: laughs Jack it is then, just wanted to make sure you were there. How’s it going? I heard you had a visit to the academy.
Jack pauses before replying, “…yes.”
After another pause, “Impressive place you have there.”
Primrose: “Why thank you, it’s big, but word travels fast, especially to me. I’m not just a harpy in the Camarilla. I’m sorry I missed you! I was in America at the time, how did you like it?”
Jack sounds confused, “How did I like America?”
“No, the academy. How did you like the academy?” asks Primrose cheerfully.
Jack: I’m impressed at the setup. Is it true that the place is pretty much impregnable?
“It sure is,” says Primrose sounding pleased, “safest place I know. Tius has done a grand job on it. Did you get to see much of it?”
Jack is starting to sound amused, “Well, I probably should’ve looked at that big statue a bit more than Sully made, but I figure it’s the kind of thing you could look at for hours.”
“It definitely is,” says Primrose, “next time your by I’ll introduce you to some folks. You have to meet our librarian Samantha, she’s lovely. I heard you didn’t really have much time to meet folks…”
Jack laughs, “Oh, as Scourge, I’d definitely like to meet any kindred in the domain that I don’t know. The Academy is in the domain of Glasgow, right?”
“I’m not actually sure,” says Primrose, “I think it might just…kind of be its own thing, not sure what jurisdiction it comes under. Probably a question for Tius. So will you be back again soon?”
Jack states directly, “Primrose. As amusing as this is, if you have a question then just ask it.”
Primrose: “…ok, what were you here for?”
Jack: To have a private discussion with Tius in a secure location.
And that’s the most you are going to get out of me about it.
Primrose laughs and says, “ok, that’s fair…did he tell you to say that?”
Jack: I’m not really in the mood for playing games, Primrose. Is there anything else I can help you with?
Primrose: “Sorry, I didn’t mean to upset you, it’s just he does this sort of thing to me. You alright?”
Jack’s voice hardens a little, “Yes, I’m fine,” Then, with a softer and more amused tone, “You mean, he does things like presenting you with curious puzzles and then won’t explain them?”
“Something like that,” says Primrose, “he dangled a bit of bait in front of me and watches me claw away at it. I am naught but a kitten chasing after the laser it’ll never catch.”
After a pause she says, “what you doing just now? You out on patrol? Want some company?”
Jack: Ha! I’ve give you this instead! I’m in Manchester. Trying to find out what plan Prince Kane has for Liverpool.
I’ve got a meeting set up in a few hours.
Primrose: “Oooooh, ok, that’s very interesting. Thank you. I’m planning on making the next court so if you don’t mind I’ll continue pumping you for information on that when I see you. But seriously, after court we should totally hit the town. Sounds like you need a night to let your hair down and I’m your gal for that. I should also point out that I consider us friends, so you know if you ever need to talk privately or anything, I am definitely here for you. I know I’m a busybody, but when it comes to my friends I’m as sealed vault.”
Jack: Well, how much I’ll talk about Manchester depends on what happens at this meeting but yeah, catch up with me at court and I’ll give you an update.
I’m not a fan of hitting the town… sometimes it gets too literal.. but why don’t you come around to my pool hall for a visit?
Shoot some pool and take over the juke box.
Primrose: “Great! Can’t wait! To both the news from Manchester and the pool hall. Sounds good. Does this mean I get a go on the bike?”
Jack laughs, “You get to sit on the back. If you want to drive it then that’s a whole other conversation that mostly consists of ‘no’!”
Primrose: “Oh dear god no, I’m more than happy being on the back. I’m fine in a car but I’m no where near being able to handle something like that.”
Jack: Okay then. Talk to me at court and we’ll arrange a date.
“Sounds like a plan,” says Primrose cheerily, “and I mean it. I’m always here if you’re needing a chat.”
Jack sighs, “If I feel the need to unburden my soul I’m sure you’ll be the first person I call. See you later.”
“Good,” Says Primrose, “I’ll see you later.”
