Battle of the Bands

First event scheduled for the 30th January.
Anatos did not come through on any of the bands he promised so Jack had to hand over the kick-off and closing events to the Cathouse, otherwise the whole thing would have to be cancelled.
Not ideal, but Jack’s plan was to make contacts rather than work on building up the club or dominate the club scene.
Politics
Jack visited a number of domains across the UK to introduce herself as Glasgow’s Scourge so that everyone knows the person to contact when coming to town. She also wanted to talk to the influential Brujah in the domains to let them know that the nightclub is the place to contact the Brujah in Glasgow and that the Glasgow Prince withdrew the permission for a Ventrue from London, the Duchess, to reside within the city. Her aim is also to find out if anything like the blood thief happening in their domain.
This was also an opportunity for the kindred in other domains about what is happening in Glasgow.
Aberdeen and Inverness
Jack only got to meet Ventrue Reginald Albertson in Aberdeen and Karl von Pitt, the Gangrel who is the childe of Prince Leslie of Inverness. Karl is short and gruff but unfriendly. He engaged with Jack to warn her to stay out of the way of the Glasgow Gangrel.
She said in reply, “I have the greatest fuckin’ respect for the Glasgow Gangrel and am looking forward to working closely with Angus with him as Sheriff.”
Karl von Pitt told Jack that there might come the time that Gangrel will need to travel into the domain of Glasgow without having the time to get permission first. He said that they’ll stay out of the city and nobody should know they are even there, but if this happens Jack would be best off elsewhere. Jack, curious at why the Gangrel would arrive in that fashion, raised at eyebrow at his threat.
She replied, “If you aren’t in the city then i’m sure I’ll never see them.”
Von Pitt only shrugged at her remark, in a take it or leave it fashion.
Dundee
The Stewart of Dundee, Thomas Carmichael, was only too happy to see Jack; he wanted to know all about how Glasgow was doing and whether stability has returned now that Aldworth is gone.
Jack told him that the shock of the leadership change hadn’t worn off yet but she thinks that Prince Rothschilde will be good for stability. Jack doesn’t know much about the workings of the court to say what else is going on, though.
Edinburgh
In Edinburgh, Jack got to speak to both Laurence Redmond (Brujah Sheriff) and Farr the Gangrel (Harpy). Both were very polite and congratulated Jack on there being someone that is finally taking the domain of Glasgow seriously enough to do things the proper way.
Manchester and Liverpool
Manchester and Liverpool have the greatest incidence of Brujah in the UK. The Camarilla Brujah are in Manchester and the Anarchs in Liverpool. She met up with Carter, again, and Duke. They introduced Jack to Ron Tabilis, the head Anarch and de facto Baron of Liverpool, although he personally had sworn
allegiance to Carter.
“German” Ron Tabilis is a large very German-looking guy with a moustache that was probably out of fashion in the 80s.
They all discussed the opening of the Ritchie’s new club. Carter won’t be at the opening but Ron and Duke both will be. Duke let’s it slip that he is Ritchie’s sire.
York
Oddly, the Duke of York, and his Sheriff (Mark Sawyer Sim) met Jack, together with David Stone, who is a Brujah neonate and the only Brujah currently at York’s court. The previous Brujah residents had left after Sawyer Sim murdered some Brujah Anarchs a year or so back.
The Duke of York seemed to listen intently and also offer up that the Ventrue had a meeting. The Ventrue Board of Britain convenes irregularly when a senior member of the clan has something important enough to affect all of Britain or when there is an issue between ventrue of different domains. He said that Queen Anne had decided to become queen of all Britain and she demands all princes in the isle to pay her tribute. He notes that it was obvious she was going to make opening gambit after annexing Norfolk a years ago.
The Duke wondered how the proud city of Glasgow is reacting to the news. He figured their views must be quite extreme as they did not even reply to Anne’s invitation or attended the meeting. A bold move, he adds.
Jack tuts. “So no Glasgow Ventrue showed up?”.
Duke of York replies, “The invitations and reminders will have gone through Ventrue channels and the Glasgow Ventrue will have been aware of them. Glasgow snubbed the event and that is a bold move.
“One that I did not think Borovich was capable off as he always seemed to spineless in front of his betters.”
Jack shrugged, “Not something I know anything about.”
Duke of York says, “Well now you do, but I was just making chit chat. It is, I am afraid, the only piece of news I currently know about affecting your domain – apart from the obvious and so I thought it might be something worth discussing.”
Jack smiled blandly. “Well, I was just here to introduce myself to your city as the Glasgow Scourge in case anyone from this part of the UK was likely to visit us.”
Duke of York says, “Ah, well you certainly succeeded at that. It has been a pleasure.”
Jack, noting she had been dismissed, offered a business card to everyone in attendance, “Here are my contact details.”
The prince had a servant take Jack’s details while David Stone just accepted the card directly.
Jack said to David, “You’re welcome to pop up if you ever want any clan company. Dive me a call sometime.”
David Stone said, “Well now that you mention it… I have some business in Glasgow in the next couple of days. How do I ensure all the paperwork is in order before I enter the domain? I was going to have my local business partner speak to the prince.
Jack replied, “That’s fine. Just give me a quick phone call when you’ve got it arranged.”
David Stone said, “I will do.”
Jack said, “I’d better head back while there is still enough darkness.”
She thanked them for their time and took her leave.
Helping out Anatos
Jack arranged a lockup for Anatos through her street contacts. All he’d asked for was somewhere with a door and no windows. £500 gets him it for two months and he’ll need to keep his head down so no one notices someone living there.
He’d also asked her to mod up a V8 engine Toyota Land Cruiser with armoured plating, armoured glass and a NOS injection system. Unfortunately for him, she had neither the cash for the parts or the precision equipment to install them.
She had also investigated the SECC security staff, with the aim of finding the bribable ones who’d accept her “recommendation” of Anatos for work there. The most useful one she found was a supervisior who would let ladies of questionable virtue into the VIP area in return for 100 quid and a blow job. So Jack offered him year free entry and VIP Club Diablo Membership, while commenting on the hot chicks at the club who like the VIPs, for him to interview Anthony and up to £300 cash to encourage him to take him on.
Perhaps she was so helpful to the young Brujah to try to balance the increased demands her beast was making on her after the cold execution of Sheriff Magnar.
Scourge and Investigations
Jack contacted Nicolai and Arkady and passed onto them a copy of the picture of the Blood Thief on a flash drive.
Then she stopped in at the Elysiums in Anderston to have a look and try to work out how kindred arrange their meetings there outwith standard opening hours. There was nothing obvious she could see, and yet, kindred definitely had meetings there.
Jack picked up the local newspapers looking for any wierdness that might suggest kindred activity but everything seemed strangely quiet. There was something about the car-burning from last month and lots of religious people speaking about whatever religious people speak about.
She also looked into any report of missing people; there were only fifty one people gone
missing over the Christmas period, which is a seven year low for Glasgow. One caught her eye, that of Rachel Hair. Curiously, her disappearance is still being investigated, even though she left in the middle of the night with her new flame.
When it came to investigating the massacre in Paisley, reported in Dark Times, Jack phoned the police up claiming to be writing an article for a local religious newsletter. She asked for alot of details on what happened. The two cars mentioned were both about eight- to ten-year-old mid-sized hatchbacks; a
Vauxhall and a Ford. From her street contacts, she found out that they had been stolen from Paisley Gilmore Street car park the night before the attack. The security cameras had malfunctioned and the perpetrators were not caught on film.
The only person who stood out from the list of the dead as a Rabbi. He had beeb influential in the local community and had been collecting money to help the victims of the Palestinian rocket attacks. He was a
regular on various BBC Scotland radio shows. Jack listened to some of the shows and he seemed well-spoken, with reasonable opinions and ready arguments – not extreme at all. The biggest opinion Jack disagreed with was that the “lack of religiousness and the lack of any faith is bad for society”.
The rest of her month doing Scourge duties was a bit more eventful.
