Dark Times Cuttings

Court Summary
Jack was impressed by the punishment decided by Prince Rothschilde, and grateful. Firstly, she was to be blood bonded to the first level to Rothschilde and William Chauncey, of the other Tremere. The bond was low enough that she could accept it, and only fair considering they were similarly bonded to her after last month’s events. Secondly, she was assigned the position of Scourge. It was a risky move by Rothschilde, but it would give support to his princeship by the Brujah clan by having one of their own in a position of authority in the city, dubious or not, and allowed him to heap the shittiest of work onto her. He could also send his clan to watch her under the guise of helping with her duties. Even more, it puts the other clans off balance – especially the Ventrue.
Most kindred seemed to have little to say on the matter, apart from Turpie, who questioned her on her duties in a way that seemed designed to annoy her, or at least challenge her opinions on killing against the permission Rothschilde had given her as part of the position of Scourge. This was likely an especially sensitive subject after her execution of Magnar. Arkady was also insulting to her, but he quickly covered it up by blaming his bad English.
Angus took the opportunity of her new position to inform her that he’d come across an unknown kindred in the city, dressed as a goth and feeding on a mortal. Jack promised to investigate.
The rest of the night for Jack was getting to know the new Brujah arrivals, Anatos and Daniel, and discussion the nightclub (Club Diablo, 117 Bath Street) that Jack was now part over of and the Brujah Training Ground (An industrial unit in Clydesmill Industrial Estate).
Anatos had a interest in electronic security was was going to invest some time and money into improving the security of both locations. He also asked Jack if she could mod a car for him – start with a Renault Espace shell and put in an Audi TT engine, then add armour plating, weapons racks and hidden compartments, foam-filled run-flat tyres, darkened windows, and a Nitrous Oxide system.
Daniel was more interested in city politics and was intending on looking into the annoying Duchess Montague and also helping Anatos out with his plans.
The Brujah Training Ground was already well appointed, however. On the ground floor there was plenty room for cars and an area for relaxing with some sofas and a TV and games consoles. There was a sparring area and a library in the basement, with a computer without an internet connection. The training equipment includes weight benches and a series of large rocks in various weight. An escape route had been half-cut through to the sewers so that, with a bit of Potence, a kindred could kick through in an emergency. And there is a statue…
… well… more of a “water feature”… sculpted in marble by an unremarkable artist perhaps, but the subject matter draws the eye regardless. A man stands naked over a hideous monster. He has a laurel crown on his head and a spear in one hand, while the other hand is grasped around his genitals as he urinates onto the monster. On the base of the sculpture is written, “Thomas, son of Carthage”.
Although Thomas no longer resides in the domain, he retains sufficient respect in the clan that Jack and the other Brujah have left the monstrosity undamaged. Or perhaps just the thought of touching it makes them withdraw in horror.
